For more than two decades, Etnia Barcelona has collaborated with artists who share a common belief: creativity has the power to challenge conventions and open new ways of seeing. This collaboration continues that legacy, bringing Felipe Pantone’s distinctive visual language into an object designed to evolve.
Rather than applying an artwork to a frame, the project translates Pantone’s artistic language into the object itself. Every decision — from colour and materials to engineering and interaction — reflects the principles at the core of his practice: transformation, dynamism and constant evolution.
The result is a piece that sits between disciplines: a functional design object shaped by artistic vision, and a collectible expression of contemporary creativity.

Felipe Pantone is a contemporary artist whose work explores the relationship between color, geometry, movement and digital culture. Born in Argentina and raised in Spain, he has developed one of the most recognizable visual languages of his generation, defined by optical effects, chromatic intensity and a constant dialogue between analogue and digital aesthetics.
Originally emerging from the graffiti scene, Pantone’s multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, installations, kinetic artworks and large-scale architectural interventions. Through geometric fragmentation, gradients, reflective materials and optical illusions, his work explores how technology and visual information shape perception, transforming the artwork into a dynamic experience. Today, his work is internationally recognized for its distinctive intersection of art, science and technology.

MULTILAYER ACETATE
Color has always been at the heart of Felipe Pantone’s work and is deeply rooted in Etnia Barcelona’s DNA — a shared language of expression, identity and creativity.
To translate Pantone’s distinctive visual language into eyewear, Etnia Barcelona developed an exclusive acetate technique specifically for this collaboration. Rather than printing the design onto the surface, each chromatic composition is built by manually assembling layers of differently colored acetate, one by one.
A highly precise and artisanal process that transforms every piece into a unique creation, where innovation and craftsmanship come together to create a new way of experiencing color.
NEW MOIRE ACETATE
Among Felipe Pantone's recurring visual languages, the moiré effect occupies a central position.
Produced through the interaction of repetitive linear patterns, moiré generates optical vibrations that create the illusion of movement despite the surface remaining completely still.
For this collaboration, Etnia Barcelona translated this phenomenon into acetate, developing a construction that recreates the same visual instability found in Pantone's paintings and installations.
The result is a frame that appears to change every time it is observed.
INTERCHANGEABLE TEMPLE SYSTEM

At the heart of the collaboration lies an exclusive interchangeable temple system developed specifically for this project.
More than a technical innovation, the mechanism introduces interaction as part of the design experience, allowing the wearer to transform the identity of the frame through a simple and intuitive gesture.
